Useful nutrition does not have to be complicated. The Weeknight Power Bowl is less a strict recipe than a repeatable formula you can adjust to appetite, training and food preferences.

Start with mixed greens and a generous serving of roasted vegetables. Add a quality carbohydrate such as quinoa, potatoes or rice, then top it with a protein source such as grilled chicken, salmon, tofu or beans.

Finish with avocado or another source of healthy fat, then add a simple dressing made from olive oil, lemon, herbs and seasoning. The result is a meal with protein, produce, carbohydrate and fat in one bowl.

For meal prep, cook the protein, vegetables and carbohydrate in batches and store the components separately. Assemble the greens and cold ingredients just before eating.

Portions should be individualized. Hard training days, body size, appetite and goals can all change how much food makes sense.
