A reset does not need to mean a cleanse, an extreme diet or a punishing workout plan. For the next 30 days, focus on five behaviors that are useful enough to keep after the challenge ends.

First, move for at least 30 minutes on most days. Walking counts. Second, strength train at least twice each week using movements and loads appropriate for your experience.

Third, build your main meals around a quality protein source and plants. Fourth, protect a consistent sleep opportunity and pay attention to the habits that improve or disrupt your sleep.

Fifth, know something important about your health that you have been avoiding. That might mean checking your blood pressure, scheduling an overdue preventive visit or asking a clinician about a persistent symptom.

The goal is not 30 perfect days. The goal is to prove that a small set of useful actions can become normal.
